In July 2024 the Nursing Informatics conference takes place in Manchester UK.This year’s theme is “Applied Nursing Informatics: Innovations in the Practice of Nursing Informatics”.

The International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) and one of its Member Societies host the internationally acclaimed Medical and Health Informatics congress, known as MedInfo.This event is taking place from 9 – 13 August in Taipei, Taiwan.

 

2027
 

IMIA General Assembly voted to hold MedInfo 2027 in Dubai, UAE, hosted by the Emirates Health Informatics Society- Emirates Medical Association (EHIS).   Dates and more information will be announced next year.

The Pan African Health Informatics Association (HELINA), the regional body of the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA), hosted its 2023 Conference in Cape Town in early November!

During July Digital Health Africa, a virtual event took place with the theme “Expanding the scope of health care services with effective digital health technologies.”  

SAHIA was a supporting association and represented by speakers Dr Rajeev Rao Eashwari and Mr Clive Daniell.

 

SAHIA proudly supported GNUHealth with their webinar series on open-source software applications for Africa and a keynote webinar titled “Making Machine Learning Actionable in Healthcare”, hosted by Prof Graham Wright and presented by Alex Macleod.

 

2019
 

Past President Clive Daniell from the In2pacs Academy ran a series of HL7 FHIR training courses.

2018

 

Clive Daniell represented SAHIA at Africa Health where he presented on the Digital Health Revolution.
 

The first HL7 FHIR Training in South Africa took place in April 2018, organised by the In2pacs Academy in association with SAHIA and presented by Herman Oosterwijk.
